Basic scripting

Step 1 - Plan your actions, display Script toolbar
Make a note of the actions that will comprise your script. You may want to write them down before recording. Also, make sure the Script toolbar is displayed.
Step 2 - Click Start Script Recording
Begin by clicking the Start Script Recording button on the Script toolbar.
Step 3 - Perform actions
Perform the actions that comprise the script.
Step 4 - Click Save Script Recording
Click the Save Script Recording button. Use the Save As dialog that appears to save your script. If you saved the script in a folder already set up via Preferences > File Locations, the script will appear in the toolbar's Select Script drop-down list.
Notes and Tips:
From short, frequently used tasks to long, complex, seldom used tasks, scripting can be a powerful time-saver.
Be aware, however, that there are some scripting restrictions. Refer to the User Guide or Help system for details.
